| Censorship in Russia has been steadily rising in the past few years, most notably with the announcement in July 2017 when the initial VPN law was signed, and later took effect the following November. Since that time, the VPN industry was waiting to see what the outcome of the legislation would be. While oppression and censorship marched steadily forward, it seems our industry finally has an answer. This week, Russia's communications branch Roskomnadzor sent compliance demands to several VPN providers, including VyprVPN.
